Gash H. (2018) Constructivisms and Ivo Kohler’s Goggles. Constructivist Foundations 13(2): 199–200. Fulltext at https://cepa.info/4599
Open peer commentary on the article “Towards a Dialogue Among Constructivist Research Programs” by Gastón Becerra & José Antonio Castorina. Upshot: To provide a context to the analysis presented in the target article, I place radical constructivism (RC) within a three-stage framework and find that many comments about RC remain in the first stage because the conceptual shift required in RC is absent. Also, I appreciate the analysis of the social in Piaget’s theory in the target article and consider it as a logically and psychologically inevitable development given the emphasis within RC on the centrality of personal meaning construction.
