Kawamoto H. (2011) L’autopoïèse et l’«individu» en train de se faire. [Autopoiesis and the “individual” in the process of being] Revue philosophique de la France et de l’étranger 136(3): 347–363. Fulltext at https://cepa.info/7026
Excerpt: The concept of “autopoiesis” as suggested by Humbert R. Maturana and Francisco J. Varela as a process by which life occurs, has its roots in Kant’s Criticism of Judgment. But it is advisable to specify its nature by introducing the key notion of a “double operation” and by insisting on the connections between autopoiesis and environment.
