Biography: Kensei Hiwaki is Emeritus Professor at Tokyo International University, Japan, and Distinguished Professor at the International Institute for Advanced Studies in Systems Research and Cybernetics (IIAS), Canada. He earned an MA in Economics in 1972 from Duke University, and a PhD in Economics in 1980 from The City University of New York. Since 2000, as conference co-chairman, he has organized and chaired 20 symposia on “Sustainable development: Theories, strategies and global governance systems” and 16 Symposia on “Personal and spiritual development in the world of cultural diversity,” alongside other related symposia, at the annual International Conferences on Systems Research, Informatics and Cybernetics, in Baden-Baden, Germany.
