Author J. Miller-Young
Janice Miller-Young has over 15 years’ experience as a teacher of both large and small classes in engineering and general (liberal) education. As Academic Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning at the University of Alberta, she coordinates activities to research and support teaching and learning across the university and increase student learning. This includes working with faculty to make certain concepts and thinking processes explicit and so narrow the gap between novice and expert thinking. She enjoys gardening as a creative and meditative outlet but also has a plant-collecting problem. No blade of grass is safe in her yard.
